Do I need a permit for a basement renovation?
For finishing a raw basement, adding a bathroom, or creating a secondary suite, permits are typically required. We handle the permit process and coordinate all inspections.
How do you handle existing moisture issues?
We assess moisture levels before framing and address any issues first — not after. Installing materials over a wet or damp foundation is the most common cause of failed basement renovations.
Can I add a legal suite for rental income?
Yes. A legal suite requires specific ceiling heights, egress windows, fire separation, and a separate entrance in most jurisdictions. We'll advise you on what's required for your specific property and local code.
What flooring is best for a basement?
LVP (luxury vinyl plank) is our most recommended option — it's 100% waterproof, handles moisture well, installs on uneven subfloors, and looks great. Carpet is fine in dry, well-insulated basements. We'll recommend the right product for your specific conditions.
