Getting Started

Always. We never provide verbal estimates. You receive a detailed written quote with a line-by-line scope of work, material specifications, payment schedule, and project timeline before any work begins.
Yes. SmartBuild operates with all required business registrations and maintains comprehensive liability insurance. We can provide documentation upon request.
Permits & Compliance
Yes. For any work that requires permits — including electrical, plumbing, structural, and new construction work — we manage the full permit process from application to final inspection sign-off.

Timeline
Timeline depends entirely on scope. A drywall repair can take a day; a full kitchen renovation takes 4–6 weeks; a whole-home renovation can take 4–5 months. We provide a firm, realistic project schedule with every quote — and we stick to it.
Process
We communicate immediately and in writing. If something unexpected is uncovered — moisture damage, outdated wiring, structural issues — we stop, document it, explain the options and costs, and wait for your decision before proceeding. No surprise invoices.
Yes. Most of our residential projects are completed in occupied homes. We take daily clean-up seriously, use dust barriers and floor protection, and organize our work to minimize disruption to your daily life.
Payment
We use a milestone-based payment schedule tied to project completion stages. We never ask for more than 10–15% as an initial deposit. Payments are made as work phases are completed and verified.
Warranty
Yes. SmartBuild provides a 2-year warranty on all workmanship. If something we built or installed fails due to workmanship within 2 years, we fix it at no charge. Manufacturer warranties on materials are passed through to you.
Materials
Not unless you want to. We can supply all materials or work with materials you've purchased. If you supply materials, we'll confirm specifications meet project requirements before installation to ensure the warranty is maintained.
